What are live event guest illustrations?
Enhance your special event by adding a live watercolor artist to paint your guests. This is usually seen as a unique alternative to a photo booth or as custom wedding favors that will become a treasured memento from your special day. Guests will have their photos taken and I will illustrate and paint their portraits in my unique style throughout the duration of the event.
the process
I will arrive about 90 minutes prior to your ceremony to get set up. (I will require a table and a chair that will usually be provided by the venue, if not that can be discussed). Pictures of guests will be taken during the cocktail hour. Limit 2 people per watercolor, 1 watercolor per couple. On average each watercolor of a couple will take about 15 minutes to paint. Once pictures are taken, guests can go celebrate the event while I paint! Guests are more than welcome to watch the painting process.
Watercolors are painted on 5x7 high quality watercolor paper and put in a plastic sleeve for protection once they are ready to be picked up at the end of the event. Any remaining photos (which will be the majority since I paint an average of 4-6 watercolors/12 or so guests per hour during the event) will be completed at my studio. Once they are all completed (within 1-3 weeks from the event) the watercolors will be mailed to the happy couple to distribute to the guests.
pricing
Up to 100 guests: Flat fee of $2,500 (this includes any watercolors that need to be completed off site)
101-125 guests: Flat fee of $3,000 (this includes any watercolors that need to be completed off site)
126-150 guests: Flat fee of $3,500 (this includes any watercolors that need to be completed off site)
Over 150 guests: pricing will be discussed.
*Over 2 hours of travel requires $100 each way. Anything over 3 hours pricing will $150 each way. Anything over 4 hours will require lodging, pricing will be discussed.
Watercolor paper can be customized with date or couple’s names (or similar variations) and there is a flat fee of $50 regardless of guest count for customization.
