Tomorrow my first turns 9 and since tomorrow is a hectic day for us we are soaking in tonight to celebrate early. I mentioned it before but I feel like I’m in the “forgotten stage” of motherhood. We are long past the newness of having a baby, we survived the toddler years, teen years seem forever away, and yet… we are left with this not so little boy. Meanwhile all of these early stages happened in the blink of an eye. One second I was changing diapers, I was potty training, reading board books and now kissing booboos are a thing of the past. Seriously, how do I have a 9 year old… where did these 9 years go. I feel like his body is growing too fast but his mind is still trying to hold on to what’s left of his innocence. He’s nearly my height but still has these big emotions that are hard to control. This stage is the hardest thus far, I want to protect him from the cruelness of this world but I don’t want to leave him too naive. I miss the simplicity of having littles but time is unforgiving, and boy it really does fly by. Happy early birthday Max. Thanks for making me a momma on a Labor Day nine years ago tomorrow.

Tomorrow my kids start school and I know kids around the country have started or are starting school too. Teach your kids to be kind. It’s one thing to hashtag about it but it’s another to actually BE kind. That’s it. There shouldn’t be an agenda, or a basis for who you should be nice to. Someone has different beliefs than you? Awesome, be kind. Someone looks different? Great there’s only one YOU out there, be kind. Someone is new in school? Sweet a potential new friend, be kind. Seriously. Life can be hard, society is losing all sense of empathy and kindness, so give grace. Grades matter, sports are great, but really if my kid is a good kid than I feel like the world will be a better place for it. We are all in this together. Praying for a great school year to all.

35 TODAY. Apart from wishing my a happy birthday, my mom called me today to make sure everything was ok because I haven’t been posting much 😂. How sad. Just immersed in the chaos and stress of life especially these last few days/weeks? BUT today I had my first real beach day this summer. Yes… I live in Rhode Island. Yes I know… that’s nuts.
